but she doesn't want to do something as simple as buying a sigil for 10k that she has to waste gurus bandwidth by making this silly thread when she has already said that she buys runes from a trader...whats the difference between buying runes from a trader and a sigil from a trader? NONE. other than the source of the object she wants, but that point is moot because they are both from traders in this case...

You want the whole thing changed over the 15k it takes to get a sigil? I guess I wouldn't mind the dropping from the zaishen chest or something similar but still 2 years over something like this..... just pm me and I'll even buy you the thing.

Do whatever you are happy with that's the point stick to principles or not lower standards or not, you have to deal with how you feel afterwards.
How important is the guild hall to you
I never pvp because I don't like the way its set up but I joined a guild so I get to use the guild hall, with my friends most of whom do pvp.
Unfortunately for those who play only pve we are in a game designed for driven by and overly influenced by pvp play and we have to live with it.
I am happy enough because pvp generates change and change is usually good.
I also feel pretty good to have found a game that lets me pve.
I have found that most online games that say they feature cooperative play assume players cooperating with each other to beat similar teams.
Player verses Ai opposition is fast becoming a dying feature one reason being that player vs player is harder the other is because in player vs player the programmers dont have to do any work on Ai at all

Ok, obviously, it is NOT that important to have a guild hall or I would have one already because I can afford it and yes, it is not THAT much money.
However, I like the challenge of working for items when there is that option. And yes I am stubborn and just don’t want to buy it when I can win it. Winning things is fun and they are the reason I play the game.
It’s not exactly a matter of lowering my standards and buying one, it is just that it would be fun to have a PvE goal that involved getting this sigil. If no one else here agrees then so be it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion as I am to mine.
On the side: I have 42 characters because I am a character monger. Also, everytime a friend joins, I make a couple new characters to play with them. I have a lot of characters in all of the RPG games I have. This one is no different except that all of the expansions have caused costs to add up, so I don’t think I will be doing that again for GWs.

Why should ArenaNet divert time to satisfy your own exact and stubborn standards? There are more important things to worry about. Ursan, hero cap, etc.

I'm no programmer, but it can't possibly be that much work to toss sigils in a few chests. That seems like it would be enough if I'm understanding the OP right.

omg you have to pay 20k!?!?!?!? SOUNDS LIKE A TIME TO EBAY :O but srsly if you're that stingy, just don't bother. and about you not being able to "bridge the gap". if you are REALLY that "stubborn" you would consider learning how to pvp AT A HIGHER LEVEL and get one? ( imo pve takes no skill anyways) and yes i also had to learn how to pvp after doing 14 months of pve... its not that hard as long as pve hasn't made you terrafail

the purpose of a guild hall is:
1) play GvG
2) play skirmishes
3) give PvP characters access to NPCs (at a price)
PvE characters already have access to NPCs. The other two functions of a guild hall are PvP related, so why would you even want one?
and 20k is hardly a lot of gold...
however, i don't think that the halls chest or the trader should be the only means of acquiring a sigil. guild halls are useful for any PvP player, and should drop from the zaishen chest and/or be available for purchase at Tolkano for balth faction and/or rp.

Hi! I also think 15k (current price from dealer) is a lot of money...probably cheapest way is to buy a guild from someone who needs to leave theirs. (Guiltless plug here for my posting on the selling forum, looking to sell my Guild....Isle of Meditation, name is Defense of Noble Ideals "DNI", cape of gold with gold hand, no people, no services.)
It is a lot of money! I had one week found a black dye and a white dye, and was feeling rich, and splurged. Never did develop it...
Other than that, though, I have only 3 characters (6 slots) and in 5 months of play have never amassed more than 6 or 7k.

I read what you say, and all I can say is learn to PVP for only a little bit. It's not that hard.

There should be a way to earn a Sigil through PvE. Sure, they were meant for PvP; the entire game is supposed to revolve around PvP, but this has changed. I don't see how it could possibly hurt to be able to earn them from some type of reward. Making it a one-time quest at the end of a campaign might keep people from farming it.

To put it simply without any insults - no.
The trader is there so PvE players who cant get it through HoH or don't enjoy HoH enough to want to do it can still make guilds. If you fall into that category, the only way is to cough up some K.

What's the difference between earning the gold by playing PvE and buying the sigil from the trader and earning one as a quest reward or whatever? None that I can see.

If you like challenge and going it yourself, winning HoH is pretty good challenge.
Make your PvE goal making character(s) "PvP ready" to achieve that. Or just have it as your first PvP goal.
